As my engine has covered just over 300 miles since a full rebuild it has 
been nowhere near its redline. Maybe one day... ;-)

Having said that, when I first started getting interested in TR4s I noticed 
in most of the current articles about them comments that they will have been 
driven hard and that the engine gives its best when driven hard.

Some articles suggested that it is due to the type of driver and the 
positioning of the cars: faster than an MGB so likely to be driven by more 
enthusiastic drivers, but less expensive (and more 'rugged') than Austin 
Healeys or Jaguars so they don't need to be kept in cotton wool to the same 
extent. I'm not sure about that theory but I'd be interested to hear what 
the other listers think.
