>Speedo cable, naturally longer but did '3s use the 90 degree
adapter?<

The TR3's and TR4's used a longer cable that passed through the slot on the
side of the transmission cover (that attaches to the floorboards) and
through the hole in the floor and then around, up and over the back of the
engine. This hole was eliminated on the TR4A's and 6's and the right angle
drive was used in conjuntion with the standard cable. This change
coincided with the change in hand brake design from the floor to the drive
line tunnel.
