Hi All,

Overdrive questions-- received my OD trans, it's later (newer) than I was
told, CT69XXX would indicate about a '66 4A (solid axle) instead of the 3B/4
that was advertised, this shouldn't be a problem, but I do have a few
questions. Speedo cable, naturally longer but did '3s use the 90 degree
adapter? This didn't come with one (did come with the vibration damper
though). The thicker flange obviously takes longer bolts. Someone here
mentioned the different sized throw-out bearing sleeves, but this has the
same size one as the original tranny so it might have been swapped out
previously. I'm going to retain the original closed nose starter and
flywheel. Any other things I should be aware of in making this swap? Does
just chaning from non-OD to OD necesitate a change in the speedo gearing?
(To further muddy the waters of the debate of the proper fluid to use in
your over-drive, the place I bought it from says to use 50w and that's what
I'll use, at least for the duration of their warranty period, but what I
drained out of it had the 'dead dino' stench of gear lube.)

Air filter finish/color, my air filters were at one time painted silver,
same color as the oil filler cap, no sign of black, there is the outline of
a correct size decal remaining on one of them. All the pictures I have seen
and the TRA judging manual states that they should be black. Anyone ever
seen original silver ones, or are mine aftermarket replacements and someone
just glued a Bazooka bubble gum cartoon to the center of one?

Thanks
Scott
