be the safest road in Germany! Strict regulations, the adherence to these,
as well as the supervision of those rules make it a rather safe road.<

In other words, everyone knows his obligations, knows what to expect from
other drivers, and cooperates with each other. I have observed this
behaviour in Britian and France as well. I see precious little of it in
the US. And it shows in the accident rate. Even with a lower overall
traffic density we have a higher accident rate. Makes you think, doesn't
it.

I must say evry time I drove in the U.S. I arrived very relaxed at my
destination,
even having done 600 miles. In Europe you are a nervous wreck
when driving that distance on a motorway.Europeans are such
machos as soon as they sit in their steel-boxes,even females, and
they are in perpetual contest to drive in front of the others, and will
enforce their right of way, even if they get killed I deeply feel sorry
for the poor Americans driving aound Europe in Hire-cars,it must be
a culture shock for them, not only at the fuel pump. And all the
VIPs ?? in their Lease-cars with 300HP, 10 Airbags, collective
Insurance and build in Priority (because they keep the economy
going) are the worsed ones. Time is money, the sooner you get
into the grave the more profit you make from your life insurance.
The anarchy on the european roads reflects the incapability
of the european national and international politicians. At a certain
stage no regulations would be better than regulations not enforced
by the law ,at least you would know where you stand and how to
behave.
As an Italian said: People wearing seatbelts are cowards and our
input to road safety is exellent hospitals, point.
