metal in a oven, some real, real bad advice here, DO NOT EVER TRY THIS.

Without some material to absorb the energy the microwaves will reflect off
of the metal enclosure on the oven and may find their way into the tube
which can cause damage. Worse yet some of the microwaves leak out. Not
much, but some do. Without some absorbtive material the amount of
radiation inside and hence the amount that leaks out will be higher. And
even if you don;t have a pace maker you are better off with less exposure
than more.

But the radiation will not heat plastics or glass or ceramic. That is why
I can put my cold cup of coffee in there, heat the coffee and still pick up
the cup by the handle - which is still cool.
