Sadly, our inferiority versus modern wheels is borne out by my own
experience as well.
On the other hand, one of the D.C. Triumph club members here has a very nice
TR250, with a fully tricked out motor with (if I recall exactly what he
said) a ported head, different pistons (?), lightened flywheel, triple side
draft Webers, electronic ignition/fan, blah blah blah. He says the engine
delivers 190 hp, which I thought to be beyond the capacity of the carbureted
2.5 liter. He also said he beat a Ford 5.0 Mustang in a little street duel
recently, and I don't believe he's prone to exaggeration.
