As Jeff and probably many others will no doubt tell you, the windscreen
frames on all Spitfires prior to 71 and the GT6 prior to the MK3 as well as
all big TR's except the TR7, 8 had removable frames, bolted to the body.
Only with the introduction of the MK 4 (Spitfires) in 1971 did the
windscreen frame become integral with the body tub. In fact prior to this
date the actual windscreen itself is the same part number for the
Spitfire,GT6,TR4,TR250,and TR6!
