Hi Jeff

Sorry , I don't have any pictures of FC 2218 with the chromed windshield
frame . I sold the Spitty earlier this year to a collector in Swaziland when
my wife became seriously ill in order to finance her hospital costs ( this
is Africa , decent medical care is pretty expensive ) and I didn't keep any
pictures ( stupidity hit me once again ) .

I bought FC 2218 from the original owner when he came to South Africa from
Zimbabwe ( previously Rhodesia ) basically in order to get my hands on a few
needed parts ( front bumper , sun visors etc. ) . Might seem strange /
stupid to you , but Triumph parts are almost unobtainable in South Africa .

>From what I've been told the previous owner bought the Spitfire new in the
UK and at the same time also bought a new bare windscreen frame which he had
chromed before emigrating to the then Rhodesia .

Sorry if my previous message was misleading or didn't sound real
enthusiastic . The Spitfire looked great with the chromed windscreen frame ,
but I really strive towards total originality ( insanity :-) ? ) . If you
don't care for originality , and have an extra windscreen frame in good
condition , I would say go for it and please send me a photo or two of your
Spitfire for my Triumph wall ( of fame ) .

Kind regards
Chris de Wet

Chris -- got any pictures by any chance? You don't sound real enthusiastic
with how it turned out... Not sure if I should risk it -- but I might!!

Best wishes,

Jeff
