Ok, here goes.

Randall Young, just turned 44, married with one kid at home.

I've loved TR3's ever since I saw the first one when I went to college.
(Talked Dad into buying it, it's still sitting in his garage waiting for me
to repair/restore it someday.) My current TR3A is in poor to fair
condition, mechanically sound but cosmetically challenged. My plan is to
get it into "nice, driveable" condition, and then play with some
modification ideas I have. (Anyone for a PI TR3 ? <g>) Other interests
include metalworking, computers and electronics. (There's also a player
piano and a roll-top desk waiting for me to repair/restore them <g>)

Other vehicles I've owned :
62 Chevy Biscayne (paid $15, drove it home ! Eventually used for practice
by the Fire Dept <g>)
65 Olds Delta 88
67 Dodge Coronet (Dad's station wagon, which he traded me for my Olds after
I totaled the Dodge.)
59 TR3A (the one still in Dad's garage)
70 Yamaha 90cc street bike (??? apparently for a 'niche' market, some
states allow 14 year olds to drive a vehicle with less than 5 bhp...)
59 TR3A (hot rod. Embarrassed several Mustangs on the streets of Indiana
<g>)
64 TR4 (parts and OD for TR3A)
70 Audi 100LS (first year, and the best. They went downhill rapidly after
that.)
68 Dodge Dart (bought for $45 for sister, who pronounced it "too ugly to
drive", but drove it anyway <g>)
72 Plymouth Valiant
80 Chevy Citation (my first and last new car, still daily transportation
when the TR isn't)
59 TR3A ("daily driver wanna be")
60 TR3A (badly wrecked, bought for parts)
75 25' Winnebago motorhome
65 (?) Honda 160cc street bike (paid $1. It rode on back of the Winnebago)
56 TR3 (bought sight unseen for $500 through a friend in Texas. Drove it
home to CA after a week in Houston getting the lights and brakes to work.)
73 (?) Honda 400cc street bike (replaced 160cc after it caught fire the
third time)
72 (?) VW Rabbit (got it "Free to a good home", drove it home. With a new
head gasket, it served faithfully as a 'beater' for many years.)
57 TR3 (Mom found it at an auction in Indiana ... it's still sitting in her
driveway <g>)
80 Chevy Citation (bought used for wife)
74 Ford Thunderbird (aka Green Whale. replaced Citation after stepdaughter
totaled it)
89 Dodge Caravan (last year before explosive devices planted in steering
wheel, replaced T-bird)

And, the amazing thing is, I can count on one hand the number of times all
these pieces of junk were worked on in someone else's shop <g>

I'm a computer programmer by trade, mostly embedded systems, with some
networking on the side. My current job is writing software for a Global
Positioning System (GPS) navigator system, based on a Motorola PowerPC
processor and a custom GPS receiver chip.

I check the list mostly at work, mostly when I need a break. At home, it's
usually only when I can't sleep <g>
