I agree, and it seems he didn't do much better with the second statement
regarding the overdrive. I've noticed over the years that the 1976 models
had relatively few factory overdrives compared to the 1975 model year TR6s
(certainly not ALL units). This left it up to the owners (such as myself) to
obtain their overdrive units after the fact. Better luck on the third
edition? JD

I think that that sentence/error was removed in the second edition
and
replaced with one that says all post '74 cars had overdrive. It is
unfortunate that he didn't do more/better homework.
