The submission about having to force the shift lever hard right to
engage reverse sounds like my transmission also. Car goes into 1st, 2nd
& 4th ok. Reverse requires a shove to get past a heavy click/clunk then
back. My tranny shifts smoothly going forward except for 3rd gear.
There I can shift normally and grind going into gear, or I can wait
about three seconds for a clean shift. I can live with this because I
don't do any driving that requires fast shifting. It would be fun to
autocross though. One does wonder what the cause is.
