Carl, it is a very light beige. Not the same shade as a cardboard box. I
have a can of almond paint from Walmart and the cubby is a tad more brown
than the top cover on the can. Pretty close with just a shade more brown.
Difficult to describe it any better. Important thing is that it is light
enough to be able to see in there but not stark white. It goes well with the
walnut veneer. This is the original cubby box.
When I said "a little worse for wear" I meant that the holes through which
the screws go are torn. But it is still functional. I won the new plastic
one and will paint it when I get around to it. Then install it. :-).
