Bob,
The nature of having a bushing (rubber or poly) between two metal parts
(one moving) means that there will by definition be movement either of
the metal piece inside the bushing or of the metal piece surrounding the
bushing.
I can speak rather authoritatively on the squeaks of sway bar bushings.
My wife had an '84 Firebird that squeaked every time it went over a bump
when the weather was dry. When it was wet, the moisture would lubricate
the bushings and it wouldn't squeak. Much study arrived at the
conclusion that it was coming from the Anti sway bar. The GM dealer
said it was "normal".
Regards,
Joe
