I replaced the original control arm bushings (bolt rusted in bushing, had
to be cut out) three of four years ago - 20,000 miles. The new bushings
have failed to such an extent that my front alignment went out last year
and I have significant tire wear. I expect more that 3 years on a
suspension bushing. I am considering polyurethane bushings. I have always
heard that polyurethane bushings squeak. How loudly will they squeak?
Will I be able to hear this over the front bonnet rattles when driving at
low speeds on somewhat rough roads? I have seen these parts advertised at
British Parts NW. Any one bought these (Spitfire) front suspension
bushings? Do these bushings have a metal sleeve on the ID. Other
recommendations for poly suspension bushings?
