Its 1/4". And it definitely made the difference. Thats just about the
amount of clearance I have for the belt.

Fortunately I will be pulling the engine off the frame anyway so I'll be
using a washer in there. I'm also going to do a better comparison of the
motor mounts and see just how similar or disimilar they really are to each
other. So far they sure look like the same thing except for height.

The car did have a bonnet on it when I bought it but it was of the long
bulge variety when it should have been the short bulge. Don't know if
there are any differences in height of the bulge or not. Guess I could
compare since I have both of them laying around right now!
Believe me if there are problems the list will be the first to hear about
it!!
Referring back to the problem with the broken or loose stud for the bonnet
stay rod, I picked up a hardened steel stud at the hardware store that has
fine threads on one end and course on the other. Today or tomorrow I'm
going to try and tap a hole in the bonnet and see how it works out. I'll
keep you posted on that.
