I assume you are located in the US:
The only 2000-series Triumph saloon that was officially imported to the US
was the 2000 mark I saloon. This means you would have problems finding a
2500 in the US.
You could import one, of course, taking a car across the Atlantic does
not cost much these days. But you might have problems with smog and other
red tape. Also, UK cars would be RHD, so you'd have to go to the
continent to find LHD. The Netherlands and Denmark would probably be good
candidates, since they have a heathy Triumph population (2500 estates are
not the most common of the breed).
All in all, not impossible.

Quite clever cars, I'd say. Spares situation and "following" very good.

Yes and no. Better brakes and better suspension. If you find a PI, you'll
have a quicker car than a US-spec TR6. Drop in a TR5 PI camshaft for
more power.
