regarding choice between spitfire and TR's...

Given equally ratty cars that need equal attention...  both are going to cost
similar dollars to restore... hence... it's better to get the TR... i.e. a TR
4a, etc...   as it's value will go up more exponentially than the Spit....
It's just a matter of whether you can afford the basement price of a TR over
the spit.

Now... that said...

If you can afford the basement price of a TR.... that same amount of money may
buy a Spitfire that's in much better condition and just needs TLC....

A $3000.00 TR 4 probably needs a hell of a lot of work... a $3000 Spitfire MK
I may already be restored.

Ahh.... decisions, decisions.

The bottom line is dollars.... AND.... which car are you really passionate
about.  AND.... how soon do you want to be driving this car?  etc. etc. etc.
