Since many 2.5 PI owners in the UK converted to carbs, you should be able
to get one from the UK for much less. But it will surely be in need of a
full tuneup/repair. (People would not have scrapped the PI when it was
in good working order).
Still, a complete and overhauled system should be available from the UK
at a price very comfortably below the price you mention.
Someone asked for 4 cylinder Lucas PI. Such systems do exist, but have
only been used for racing AFAIK, and they are thus scarce as the
proverbial hen's teeth.
Single point injection systems have been mentioned. They will not bring
the performance benefits of a proper system with one injector per
cylinder. The reason that they are used is that they allow better control
of the mixture as is required for the 3-way catalyst system.
