Hi Kirk,
When I restored my '66 spitfire Mk 2 last year, the 2 point seatbelts were
totally bu##ered and as the local law says 3 point belts must be fitted, I
bought and fitted retracting belts which I bought through Moss Europe. I also
bought a couple of fixing kits which include the stepped shoulder fixing plate
to fit into the holes I had to drill in the inner wheel arch. Not a difficult
job if you take it carefully and go up through a number of drill sizes. I
finished off with a tapered radio chassis reamer which cleaned up the holes
quite nicely.
The original 2 point threaded fixing holes fitted bolts that came with the
belts and the final job looks good and
(touch wood :>) ) works well.
