Fellow unscrupulous modifiers...
For those of you who are into concours, or at least "stock" Triumphs,
please hit the delete key now.
For those of you still with us, I recently subscribed to Grassroots
Motorsports, and they had this nifty article about puttin a Mazda RX7 diff
in a Spit. In the back of my mind, I just knew that my stock GT6 4.55 with
the Detroit locker really wasn't up to the task of containing those pumped
TR6 ponies. So, has anyone tried this yet ? It does look like a fair amount
of work, but the diff should be able to withstand a good deal more oompf
than the current unit.
That leaves the poor tranny as the last "weak" link. Anyone got an easy
switch here (Barry) ? I've been thinkin that a T5 should be a good choice,
but have no clue as to how easy it will be to fit up to the TR block, or
how well it will fit into the chassis.
Any thoughts?
Stock is only a state of mind...
