Probably not that high, given labor rates today.

What you might consider doing, Peter, is stripping of the old rubberized
coating, sand or wire brush the rust off, and then dip the whole thing
into the stuff used to dip tool handles for grips. It's called either
Plasti-Dip, or Plasti-Grip, something like that (haven't used any in ten
years, so memory's foggy). That should produce a rubberized coating
similar or identical to that of the original part.
