Hi Barry & the original author of Ultimate Compliment
This must be a special 'Triumph' thing ?
My Herald was parked on the small car park on the middle of the Dutch
Afsluitdijk,
That's the famous Dyke carrying the road across the sea between the Waddenzee
and the Ijssemeer in the North West of the Netherlands.
Whilst taking a photo of my 67 Herald 1200 Convertible from the footbridge
across the road,I spotted the same couple,(I think they were Germans?),with
her posing against my Triumph, and he taking her photo!!!
It happened again on the way home to England, but this time I was sitting in
my car!,inside the car ferry. She parked her (sizeable) rear end ON my bonnet
(hood),and he climbed up the inside of the boats hull to get a good shot!!!
I depressed the horn button,(it worked!),and she jumped up so high,I thought
she was trying to join her fella!
Oh the joys of Triumph ownership,Look but please don't sit on/dent my
panelwork!
I'm off to the STER rally in Venlo (S.E.Holland) in my Vitesse 2L Convertible
on Friday morning,it's only done 472 miles so far,so this trip will add about
another 1000 miles.
I'll be driving in convoy with Andreas Jaunsen, the Norwegian Organiser of the
Triumph Sports Six Club who has brought his Herald 13/60
(Tristran-Convertible) over to the UK from his home in Bergen,Norway.
En route we are meeting up with TSSC-Belgium area members near Liege in
Belgium and going on to the rally site,to join the 100+ European Standard &
Triumph clubs attending the rally. It should be quite an experience.
C Ya!

Triumph Sports Six Club International Liaison Secretary
