The funniest one I have found is in Graham Robson's Triumph TRs The
Complete story.
On page 109 is a picture of a TR5 with a tan dashboard. The book states
that apart from the aftermarket steering wheel, it is an excellent example
of a "stock"
car. The car has wood door caps, a tan dash top, console, rosewood
dashboard and
tan sun visors.
I fully agree with Andy, it is very hard to trust the available books on
the subject. Very
few books are fully accurate. You would think that experts such as Bill
Piggott and
Graham Robson would check their books for accuracy before
publication..........
Dave Herr (enough of an expert to know that TR5's did not have wood door
trim!)
