No offense to your wife or any other women (or men) on this list, but
she has been watching too much Dateline NBC, 20/20, 60 Minutes and any
other shows that sensationalize accidents and prey on peoples fears.

I notice she is worried about the kids, and not you! Look, if you are in
an accident in the Spit, the fuel tank exploding is the least of your
worries. Just tell her that with the quick response of the Spit, you
can safely steer out of any dangerous situations. I have always felt that
the location of the Spit fuel tank is safer than many other cars, it
is pretty much centralized.

Drive it and enjoy it.

PS, Yes, I am back. I have been off the list for the last five weeks
due to my employer deciding that I needed training on yet another CAD
