Having been reading and writing messages to this group for some time I
have learned a tremendous amount about these cars. Heck the first time I
saw the brake reservoir, "I knew" the screw can on the car I was looking
at was some wacky fit up by a DPO (DPO - that took a while to figure
out). Wrong, it was a wacky fit up by Triumph!
But seriously, I have been looking for a TR-3, preferably with overdrive.
I have seen numerous cars, none with overdrive. One thing I have not
figured out is how to tell if a transmission is an OD or not. Yes, I
know there is supposed to be some sort of toggle under(?) the center of
the dash, but does the tranny look any different? What does the switch
look like? Is there any way to tell from the wiring?
Also, how hard is it to find:
1. The Tee handle wrenches for the bonnet and spare compartment.?
2. The correct crank and Jack for the car?
3. Other weird little bits someone lost over the years?
Do all the speedo's and Tach's bounce around like they are suspended on
springs? They probably are spring driven but do they all bounce
constantly?
To all those who have answered my questions in the past, including, and I
probably shouldn't start this again, the wire wheel conversion and how
to tighten them, I thank you for your patients and expertise.
Hopefully I can find and buy a car soon so I will spend less time asking
questions and more time wrenching and driving.
