Please let us know if these fit on your TR6 without
suspension or fender clearance problems and/or modifications.
I've been considering trying to find and buy either 16x7 or 17x7
wheels. (A 225/60R16 and 235/50R17 are both very close in
overall diameter to original 185R15 tires.) I am assuming that
such wheels would surely fit if the 15x7 wheels do with a tire
of close to original diameter.

you will find at any single store. I did a quick check there, and
there are some choices in at least Dunlop, Goodyear, Michelin, and
