Now I'm really confused. A number of people corrected me for thinking the
SU's I have are from a sub-liter engined Spitfire. Apparently there ain't no
such animal.
My info came from the applications list from my Haynes SU Carburetor book.
On page 97 it Says "Spitfire Mk I & II 950cc cap 4 cyl 1962/66 AUC983F,
AUC983R.
Is the capacity of the engine wrong, or do these carbs go on another car
entirely? Most of the other applications have AUD*** instead of AUC***.
Would someone with a '69 US-spec Spitfire please go read the metal tags on
the float bowls, and drop me a line? Many thanks in advance; I'm having
trouble sleeping with this burning question on my mind.
regards,
Sean Johnson
