I'll guess that this is the "standard" Mk.3 Spitfire style of intake and 
carbs. The Smiths PCV valve just fits in the hole on the top of the 
manifold. Of course, it should fit snugly. If not, one can very 
carefully use a drift and hammer to "peen" the inside edge of the 
manifold just a wee bit so that the valve does stay in place. The cars 
tend to run very poorly with the vacuum leak caused when the valve comes 
loose, and the peening method is something my local 'Murrican car 
mechanics showed me many, many years ago.
