Fellow Scions,
        I must interject at this point.  The tool of choice for me when 
doing jobs like this is the Vise-Grip Chain tool.  It allows you to grasp 
the pulley from the circumference without the likelyhood of damage to the 
pulley track.  This thing is really amazing.  It also works to loosen 
those 69-74 Triumph Spit/GT-6 plastic brake master caps without damage.
        Once fitted, you can use a cheater bar on your favourite ratchet to 
get the nut off, and let the Vise-Grip Chain Tool rest against the frame.
