Thanks to all who responded to my plea for help!
Many of my soulmates in subtlety suggested the universal WD40/BFH cure
(funny nobody mentioned another of my favorites, open flame applied to
flammable oil), but the winner of the first round is Mark, who suggested
removing the mountings for the cylinder and adjuster from the outside.
I had to break the little plates which wouldn't slide past the lever, but no
big deal. A few shots with an MFH and everything came off. Now I just
have to sell the sailboat which is taking up a bay in my garage. Anybody
wanna buy a Bluejay? (oops, sorry... Anybody wanna trade a Bluejay for an
LBC?)
