I can second the salt comments. I was second owner of a 1970 FIAT 124 Spyder. A lovely car, but in the fall of 1972, the rocker panels started to rust through. I'm in Massachusetts, and the first owner was in the Navy. The salt was eating the thing up. The body shop guy said he could make it look good, but I should sell it before it broke in half..... Stu |
