John and all,
I am assuming you are talking about the mk2 1196.
The core plugs go in in dished out. Once these are
in you ping them with a small hammer or ball peen
and sorta dish them in. This sets them. Those
plugs (not the cup type) are called welch plugs. I
just went through this with my mk2 as well. Just
pushed in and not pinged, they may pop out.
Unfortunately, I found out the hard way about this,
and once installed properly, I have never had anymore
problems.
