If you've got a fuel problem, it's going to have a curve as it were with
regards to the symptoms. It's going to be fine, not so fine,
something's wrong, running badly, very badly, dead.
That doesn't really sound like what you're trying to describe. You
seem to be saying things are fine, then they aren't, then they are
again. That would lead me to suspect an ignition problem, most likely
having to do with poor connection somewhere.
What year Spitfire is this btw?
