Thanks for the info Bill.
Are the rear plastic finishers available ?
Due to the extreme African sun the plastic finishers don't last very long ,
so I would really rather prefer to obtain the early metal finisher . Might
take me another 7 years though :-)
I have looked at the rear glass metal finisher on my early Herald 1200 Coupe
( smooth roof version without the side ribs ) , but it is the wide / broad
variety and won't fit as far as I can see . Maybe the later thin type would
, but unfortunately I don't have such a metal finisher available .
Also , just out of curiosity , can the Spitfire front windscreen rubber
plastic finisher be successfully heated and re-bent to fit the hard top rear
glass rubber ?
Kind regards .

Hi Chris,
The early Spitfire hardtop rear seal is another "Rarebits4classics"
product scheduled for delivery around the end of the year. I expect to have
the first samples for test fitting around the end of this month. This will
be a continuous section to be cut to length. Estimated cost will be around
25 pounds sterling.
The chrome finisher is the same extruded plastic section as used on the
front seal. It is possible that very early cars had anodised aluminium trims
as on the earlier Herald 1200, but I've not seen any of this type.
Standard-Triumph moved to the plastic trim for most applications from 1963.
Cheers,
Bill.
