John,
When you installed the new head gasket, did you tighten it to the specified
torque, run it up to operating temperature and immediately retorque it
while hot?
If you did not, it still may be a blown head gasket. I was amazed how Spitfire
head nuts become very loose when they are brought up to operating
temperature.
