Welcome to the club. I have a 1980 Spit that is in running and showing
condition, so I may be able to help with some of the later model specifics.
I'm glad to see some more of the "rubber bumper" Spits are being restored.
BTW, I have to ask. Does your software tells you how to be politically
correct?

Hello everyone
I am about to be chosen (I hope) by a 79 spitfire as its new owner.
Been looking for a while, but this might be it.
I am afraid I will be asking for help on a very regular basis, since
this is my first experience with LBCs, and, although not totally
technically impaired, I am a novice to most jobs the car will need.
So maybe it would be a good idea if I first introduced myself: My
name is Marc, I am French and I live in the Garden of England (South
East [Kent] for those of you on the other side of the pond). I am 42
and definitely more clever with a Macintosh than a carburettor (that
doesn't tell you much, though...)
This little spitfire has been Ziebarted from new. I understand it is
a rust proofing (really?) thing, and that it is good that it was done
from new... Any "hands-on" experience with the process?
Regards
Marc
Funny that: My e-mail software (Eudora) tells me that "spit" is
offensive... So I wrote the name in full ;-)
