OK, I gotta add to this.
I'm currently on Dog 3.1 and have been quite happy with it for 15
years, now. This version has had the copy protection permanently
enabled, but retains the LegLift 1.1 and HydrantSeek 1.0. Over the
past couple of years, the audio and video inputs have failed, but
audio output and olfactory input seem to be fairly intact. In
addition, it has proven itself compatible with Rabbit (Versions 1.0,
2.1, and 3.0) primarily in not consuming or overwriting any of the
Rabbit implementations, but also in cleaning the PawSupportSurface 2.0
I was fortunate in Dogs 2.1 and 3.1 in that I received them in
slightly used form, so most configuration details had been taken care
of. I also discovered that Dog 3.1 was very instrumental in training
the AI program Child 1.0 which arrived some seven months after the
arrival of Dog 3.1 (Dog 2.1 having suffered from an unrecoverable
crash on North Main St in Ann Arbor.)
But enough about pets; I gotta get back to Wife 1.0, or I won't have
any chance to work on Spitfire 2.1 this summer.
