The Triumph Factory Le Mans Spitfires (1965) did something like this. Check
out the picture on the back dust jacket of Graham Robson's
"The Works Triumphs" It shows ADU2B with its bonnet open, and running from
the front to the rear of the bonnet is a ~5" dia flex hose.
