I have 205 13s, not sure if they're 60's or 70's, but if you can find the
Spitfire Garage Website, there is a discussion on it there, and my tire size
is specified there.
I have not had any problem with rubbing, on turns, or over bumps. They are
mounted on the standard wheels that came in 1976 with the slots instead of
holes. They've been on more than one of my Spits without problem. As to
rubbing on full steering lock, I haven't noticed any problem, but Spits will
let you turn tighter than is good for your tires at anything over 2 mph, so
I'm always careful to go very slow when using this capability.
I have no pics, but if you're near Vancouver B.C., you can come look...

Philip;

I have Michelin XZX 165SR13 tires mounted on 5 inch alloy wheels. The tires
are now almost 19 years old. The big problem I have had with them is that
the back tires rub the fenders BIG TIME on every little bump in the road and
I find that very annoying. The clearance between the rubber and the edge of
the fender opening is barley large enough to put your finger in. I am
thinking of going back to a 155SR13 size or possibly 165R70 on a stock 4.5
inch wheel.

I know there was a recent discussion on tyres and several web pages with
info, but I want to get a list consensus.
I have currently on my 1500 Spit, 205 -70-13 tyres, which I think are too
big, appear to bind (lock to lock). They are installed on stock rims (4.5
inches).

They need replacing, and I am looking at 175-70-13's
What are YOU using and are you satisfied with them.

Any and all comments and suggestions would be appreciated
