Hello,

I started looking at a set of MKIII SU HS2s that I have, and I noticed
that the needles were marked "007". (Like James Bond). But this
is not an "official" SU needle type! Has anybody ever seen needles
marked "007" before? Any idea where they came from?

The needle dimensions are relatively close to the "DD" needle which
was standard for many MK III Spits. However, the big end is about
.002" smaller than standard (.087 vs. .089). Possibly this
explains why I could never seem to get the idle lean enough?

Finally, I measured the dashpot springs. The spec for the "red"
spring is 4.5 oz of force at a 2.635" length. I measured 6 to 6.5 oz.
Does this difference sound big enough to mess things up?

Thanks,

Doug Braun
