Hey there,

I don't know about your first question (yet) but I've done the second, with
pretty good results.

The plate goes in between a flap you should have on the rear of your hood
(top), below the back window. The plate is basically there to hold down the
rear edge of the hood. There are also small felt pads you should have to
protect the paint where this bolts down.

The two bolt holes are there for the plate to be bolted onto the rear deck.
The three snaps (females) are there to fasten your boot cover or tonneau cover
while the hood is down. You can check out a Victoria British catalog for
visual reference, the VTR website ( http://www.vtr.org/maintain/tr4-top.html
good for others besdides TR4 ) and also my journal (
http://www.enteract.com/~vmichael/spitfire1.html#InteriorAndTrim )

I bought a "raw" Robbins top, which had no hardware on it at all. I don't know
if they come any other way. If I would do it over again I would use all metal
fasteners, I think.

Good luck,

Vic
