Vic,
I saw an article in a British magazine where the bonnet hinge brackets were
being replaced. After cutting off the old brackets at the welds, they
bolted the new ones to the bonnet. Then they set the bonnet on the frame
proping the front with an appropriate box, etc. They closed the bonnet
latches and made sure all opennings between the bonnet and the body were
even. Then they just tack welded the bonnet hinges to the frame in front,
removed the bonnet again, and fully welded the new brackets.
Might be a thought in lining everything up.
