OK, now I have been on a 200 miles roadtrip in my new 69 MK3, and I ran
into several problems.
1. Battery keeps running flat, and I'll have to push the car downhill to
start. I get some weird readings from the battery when using a voltmeter,
so I guess I'm doing something wrong. I measure DC with the negative pin
from the voltmeter to the neg. terminal on the battery, and the pos. to pos
on battery. Then I get something like 29 V. Am I doing something wrong
here???????
2. Don't know whether the dynamo is actually charging the battery. Ignition
light is not on, but how do I measure with my multimeter?????
3. The loud noise from rear at speed over 50 mph. I kind of hope this is
because the hubs hasn't been greased, but fear thar it's a bent diff. or
bent axle. It's a loud rumble when I reach 50 mph, and it does not
dissappear when I put the clutch in the floor. Any suggestions? Can I harm
the car by keep driving??
4. It jumps out of reverse - no big problem, just an annoyance, Is there an
easy (cheap) way to fix this???

Kind regards
