Glen,
My '80 spit has a thermostatically controlled fan. The car normally runs
with the temp gauge at the mid point. The fan kicks on when the gauge is
midway between 1/2 and 3/4. The gauge drops back to the midpoint and the
fan shuts down. When the car was purchased, the thermostat was bypassed and
the fan ran continuously -- with the gauge hovering at the midpoint.
Perhaps I've missed something, but what makes you think your car is running
hot?
