Actually you don't even need to order a cable modem to have
this. Many digital cable boxes communicate both ways, for
example, to record pay-per-view purchases or allow users to
order products or packages from the cable box.
Satellite receivers accomplish the same thing by using
a phone line that has to be connected, but cable boxes
do not require the phone line.
