The GMC TF rear end is a Spicer 45 with a 3.08 ratio. I have one in my 57 GMC.
2150 RPM @ 60 MPH with 235/75x15" tires.

The OD transmission is the same length as the regular 3 speed as it "replaces"
the
regular transmission's tail shaft...actually there's more to it than that ....
The original OD is not good for high hp applications or, I would imagine,
anything like
towing. When they were designed, they had the 235 6 cylinder in mind. It
should go
behind a stock or mild V8 ok. If mine doesn't last, I also have one of the
late TF GMC
"high speed" rear ends...not as good as the 2.73 that the OD gets you when
engaged but
liveable....been too long since we did the rotation test but it seems that it
was
either a 3.38 or a 3.08.
