Jeremy, that thousand dollar radio you've got is not too far from the
truth. I have been looking for an AM-FM British Leyland radio to go
into my 74 B-GT V-8, and actually located one of these at an MG parts
house in New York. They had an original in the box radio and
installation kit for the MGB, but I shied away when they wanted 450
bucks for it! They also had just the radio (without the cheap speaker
and cheesy antenna) for 350 bucks.
I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a poor quality mid 70s
sound system, just to get a period piece.
