I wanted to update my last question, just so there is a copy in the list
archive for future reference. (I'm sure I"m not the last person who'll have
this question).
Jim was (as always) correct in that a Chevy water pump pulley will indeed
fit. It is the long water pump variety with a single groove that has the
correct backspacing. The Chevy short pump pulley is much too deep (why they
are labeled this way is a mystery, logic would be the reverse). I found an
aluminum one at the local speed shop. The bolt holes are not correct as the
bolt pattern is larger than the pattern on the Buick pump, but this is easy
to remedy.

One of the Chevy pulleys will work, usually found in chrome at the speed
shops,
but I don't remember if it is short or long water pump version. You will
have to
drill a new set of mounting holes as the distance from center is not the
same,
unless you were fortunate enough to find a water pump with a dual set of
holes in
the hub. Shaft hole is the same. Suggest you take the new pump with you when
you
go shopping.
