TFs originally had a fiber spacer approximately 5/16" thick between each
carb and its mounting flange on the intake manifold. Yes, that does make
clearance between the hood panel and air cleaner a bit tight! And, please
don't be so quick to assume that Moss has it wrong; their catalogs are about
the best researched in the industry.
Gas tank straps were originally painted body color, although the bracket
that secures their top ends to the body were chromed.
