| I had a Fish carb on my Chevy stovebolt way back
when.  It was a one barrel and had no float.  In
place of the float was a paddle valve which
worked like a giant accelerator pump.  When you
opened the throttle, it forced more fuel into
what would be the float bowl (the bowl was there,
there just wasn't a float and needle valve).  I
never figured out why it wouldn't flood when
constant lower speed was maintained.  I do
remember that it put out more power than two
conventional single barrels on a Sharp manifold
though.
